The Resting Metabolic Rate is the
amount of calories you burn at rest during a 24-hour period.
To lose weight you need to consume 500 calories a day
below your own individual metabolic rate. (But never go below
1000 calories as that slows down your metabolic rate)
Protein Requirements

carbohydrates in their diet (for their daily level of exercise) and
not enough protein.
