Why add a shake ?

One very effective way of helping to increase your calorie intake is to add a healthy shake to your diet. For ultimate weight gain results you should be having at least 4 to 6 meals per day - by far the easiest way is to add a shake.

What is a formula 1 "Shake"?

A "shake" is the word used to describe a delicious easy to make drink.

When do you take a "Shake"?

We usually recommend taking it within 1 hour after meals. There is only one reason for that - convenience.

It's far easier for someone to remember taking a drink when they are eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. But for ultimate results you should be taking it mid morning, mid afternoon and mid evening.

If you decide to use it between meals than it's very important that you do this consistently - i.e. make sure you do it 3 times per day (day after day) and you are eating the right level of calories for your main meals.  Especially Breakfast is very important.

Will it make a huge difference if you have it with meals or between?

It depends a lot on your daily activity - if you have a very physically demanding job then "topping up" between meals using a shake and a snack can make a dramatic difference.  If you don't burn that many calories during the day then it might be far easier to just have it with your meals.

 

How do you make a "Shake"?

The starting point - and most important one ! - is that you should be enjoying it. As you will be having it 3 per day you need to find a way of really looking forward to it.

What do you blend it with ?

The choice is very much yours (see below) but we only recommend adding it with milk if you are ok drinking lots of milk.  Many people are lactose intolerant and might end up feeling bloated or have headaches if they have to much milk.

Formula 1 tastes great with fruit juice or soya milk.  In addition you can sprinkle it on breakfast cereals, mix it into desserts like angel delight.

 

1. The Quick Start

If you take it 3 times per day then a tub of Herbalife Formula 1 will last you exactly 21 days - if you are using it faster than you are using to much powder.

You need to use 2 level dessert spoons - "medium" sizes spoons and blend this with anything you enjoy - for example if you blend it with 250 ml semi-skimmed milk it will provide you with 217 calories.  (The ideal level)

We don't recommend simply mixing it in a glass - while stirring with a spoon.  It will taste significantly better if you either shake it by hand in a sealed flask,  use a mini-blender, or an upright blender.  When you do that the final product will froth up readily, and have a smooth creamy consistency.
